The work of Fundación Amigó centralizes on helping youngsters and adolescents who suffer from behavior problems, loss of family and social unit, material deficiencies, loss of moral identity, alterations in conduct, and personality perturbations. We also help their family, social, work backgrounds.
With our desire all of them, the Fundación Amigó has created an infrastructure of direct help, which consists of the following programs:
1. Treatment and Rehabilitation of Toxics
We help those youngsters who suffer especially from this problem in a very special way.
The Fundación Amigó has created since the 30th of March of 1992 in Castellón (Spain) the project Amigó- Hombre which provides:
- A program for the rehabilitation of youngsters with drug problems.
- A place where the person is cared and that with high esteem is looked at with a possibility of changing for the better.
- A place where people can meet who strongly believe in the solidarity of the program.
- A non lucrative program which assists everyone no matter their race, color, or sex.
It is a response for youngsters and adolescents who have iniatiated in the utlization of drugs. We are here to give help and support to their families. And to all of those people who are affected by the problem of drug abuse. To all of them the Project Amigó offers:
- A personable following
- Groups that help on alone to one basis.
- Family therapy
- An educational health program.
- Support to those infected by HIV.
- Pyscho-social reinsertion.
Our method is made to help fight the abuse of drugs as a means of growth and personal change. We believe that the problem lies in the person not the substance. Our program is comprised of a team of specialized professionals who are inspired in community experiences where the science of therapeutics “Daytop” in USA is practiced. Also, the philosophy of Proyect-Man and the Amigonian method of education is used as a great tool. This method also looks for solutions of support using humanist pyschology, cognitive and modification of conduct.
This method strives to restructure the person in the areas of behavior, social, affection, moral ethics, through a procesual method: which proposes threapeutic objectives which works on a progressive basis of different fases of treatment (Day Center, Therapeutic Community, and Social Reinsertion.
