The work of Fundación Amigó centralizes on helping youngsters and adolescents who suffer from behavior problems, loss of family and social unit, material deficiencies, loss of moral identity, alterations in conduct, and personality perturbations. We also help their family, social, work backgrounds.
With our desire all of them, the Fundación Amigó has created an infrastructure of direct help, which consists of the following programs:
1. Treatment and Rehabilitation of Toxics
5. JUVENILE HOME
The main goal of the Juvenile Home is to orient and to give support to the adolescents and youngsters, putting them to their highest potential in order to develop a better personality and social skills. This is so important to develop especially in their family and personal growth in order to integrate them in the social working world. These are the following objectives:
- Offering the adolescent with a place to live where he or she can become the protagonist in family life, learning, and strong in their learning process making them mature and wise.
- Giving them the possibility to choose on their own. To make decisions with criteria and with an independent autonomy. This will help them in their personal and social growth as well.
- Enabiling them to gain the responsibilty for confronting their problems and decisions in order make them capable of elaborating their personal status or occupation for the future.
The educational system of the Juvenile Home is based on a one to one relationship that is suitable to the adolescent or youngster. Objectives, goals, and specific resources are taken under consideration in developing their personal realities. These objectives personalize the educational tasks that should be accomplished. Therefore, they require particular attention , evaluation , and followment.
The Juvenile Home is a family home specialized in assisting the needs of youngsters, hoping to prevent maladaptive conducts, in an affectionate educational environment. As a family house it is characterized in giving personalized educational attention.. The emphasis here is focused in the process of integrating these adolescents and youngsters in their own environment taking into account their social relations and normal activity insertion.
They are adolescents who are capable of following an academic or work life, making this a reality so that they can live in a group as well as determining their own decisions. They should not have any personal difficulty that could implement any therapeutic treatment
The model of the Juvenile Home is as the following:
- The participation of the adolescent or youngster in the fuction of the home.
- Making them to be the protagonist in their own formation and helping them see the options that are presented in life.
- The responsiblity carried in adolescent or younster through his or her actions.
- Personal Emancipation.
- Social integration.
